I overlooked this last week, but better late than never. Rutgers’ women’s basketball C. Vivian Stringer won her 800th career game last Wednesday with a 60-46 win over DePaul. With the win, Stringer became just the eight Divsion I coach — men or women — to accomplish that feat.
Despite her accomplishments, when the general public thinks of Stringer and Rutgers women’s basketball, the first thing that comes to mind is the Don Imus incident. It’s unfortunate, but reality. What people may not know is how much Stringer has overcome in her coaching career.
So congrats to Coach Stringer and here’s to many more wins.
